Car-racing video game or off-road driving: Getting fat versus getting fresh air

posted in Car Insurance Savings |

There are two ways you can have fun driving. The first way is to play a video game that involves racing vehicles. The second way is to do some off-road driving. One of these ways is healthy for you and the other is not. Which is which? It is not hard to guess. The video game has the drivers sitting in the family room, on the couch, manipulating a game control with the hands. When driving the off-road vehicle it has the drivers out in the sunshine and fresh air, being active. Naturally, you need an off-road vehicle for this activity, and, as with any vehicle, it will need maintenance. A few of the items you may need are pro comp wheels, pro comp tires, and other off road parts.

The disadvantages of playing video games are related most closely to your health and well-being. When the guys are over to play games, there is probably food out for snacking. And as we know, snack foods are known to be the most unhealthy food to eat. Chips and dip, chicken wings, pizza, and wieners have a lot of fat and salt. Combined with sedentary leisure time, this fatty, salty food will pack on the pounds and contribute to heart trouble.

Buying and maintaining an off-road vehicle can be very expensive, but the cost can be worth it. Just think how much healthier it is to be outdoors in the sunshine and how much more fun a group of friends can have. The first advantage is the value of time in the sun. These days, many people lack the required amount of vitamin D. The main job of this vitamin is to help your body process calcium. While some vitamin D is available in food, sunshine is the best source. Of course, you always need to be careful when spending time in the sun. A surfeit of sun is worse than not enough. The dangers of sunburn are well known to everyone. To prevent skin cancer from developing, off-roaders need to apply a good amount of sunscreen with a high SPF number. You might want to leave a different small space on a hand or leg unscreened each time you go out. Another option is to apply the sunscreen after being in the sun for 10 to 15 minutes. A hat that shades the nose and ears is also an effective option.

But the advantages are clear-cut. Although you spend time riding in the off-roader, you will inevitably get some exercise while outdoors. Particularly, if your vehicle of choice is a dune buggy, you will want to spend some of your time running around on the beach and wading or swimming in the water. A volleyball game in the sand is great for families. Toss a beachball. If you take your off-roader out into the woods or fields, you can park it and explore the area on foot. Take a camera and binoculars, and you can see birds, wildflowers, and maybe even mammalian wildlife.

I will admit that video games can be fun, but they are not as invigorating nor as much fun and healthy as getting out into the air in your off-road vehicle.
